The Melville Charitable Trust Foundation’s mission to end homelessness brought them to Hartford, CT ‘s Frog Hollow area in 2004. We designed the restored historical Lyceum Building as the center to bring local initiatives together. Upon the acquisition of the Billings Forge complex, we worked with the foundation to design a community center and the Firebox restaurant concurrently with other initiatives, including the farmer’s market, artist’s studios, culinary kitchen, and community garden. In 2008, we assisted the foundation in relocating their headquarters to new offices in the Back Bay area of Boston, MA.
